Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to be stranded in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law and other stars from a galaxy far, far away in “The Skeleton Team.” The holographic circus that entertains Neil’s younger siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family sees in the infamous holiday special of Star Wars (1978). AniMat (2022) featured Crazy Cartoon Lineup: Stupid Old Deadly Bear. I approach this review with caution, acknowledging that “The Skeleton Team” seems to be aimed at a younger audience. While kids might enjoy it, I found the first four episodes to be entirely uninteresting. There’s no depth to the story, and it feels like a children’s movie where the action jumps from place to place without any real consequence. The military setting is superficial, and the action sequences don’t have the necessary impact. The acting, while not terrible, could be stronger, especially considering the caliber of some of the actors. Even Jude Law seems to overdo it at times. The creative project is impressive, but it can’t save the story, which feels slow and ultimately forgettable. Perhaps the series will improve later, but based on my initial viewing, I stand by my opinion. Please prove me wrong! One Hundred Years of Solitude is the biggest TV and streaming premiere this month. Check out our December calendar for more!
